Donna Thompson – Gardner Street
London multi-instrumentalist Donna Thompson shares “Gardner Street”, the lead single from her upcoming EP “What In The World?!?” (November 21 on PRAH Recordings). Initially written for a short film, the track addresses brain fog and modern distractions.
Thompson describes “Gardner Street” as an invitation to stay grounded rather than becoming self-obsessed. She’s been building her solo work since releasing standalone singles on PRAH in 2023 and 2024, while still collaborating with friends like Alabaster Deplume, who played saxophone on her previous track “Sunny April Showers”.
The production keeps things focused – Thompson’s vocals and instrumental work get space to develop without unnecessary additions. Her approach to songwriting centers on what she calls “universal truths and everyday gratitude”, examining relationships and situations faced while navigating life as a neurodiverse person.
